Okay, first of all, Janet had people here this night. I remember this big, cigar-smoking guy. He must have brought a group. Anyway, this was by and large a pretty awful show. We just weren't very good back then. And where did MSJeans come from? I think at one point we decided it would be funny to work Steve's character Mr. Li from "MSGee" into as many sketches as possible. So, he ended up popping in at the end of "Elvises" (which went well) and then there was MSJeans. In that sketch, Janet lies on a couch saying, "Nobody comes between me and my Ms. Jeans." Steve, as Mr. Li, bursts thru center curtain and says (echoing his MSGee line 'We no use MSG here!' followed by maniacal laughter) "Ms. Jeans? Ms. Jeans?? No, I told you, they MSJeans! (followed by maniacal laughter. From Mr. Li, not the audience). I don't think anyone found Mr. Li as funny as me and Steve. "Rate Your Mate" was good (that was a Schilling sketch); Trump was pretty awful, but you've gotta' hand it to Jen -- she learned it fast and sang it like a trooper (okay, a STORMtrooper, but nonetheless...) Spiderback was funny but slow and I can't imagine what Steve finds so appealing about Josh's "Antiques Roadshow" sketch. I don't remember every freaking out (in character) so completely onstage, though. I impressed me! - Dale ************ I disagree with Dale a little that we weren't that good in those days, or that the show didn't go that well. I would agree the group wasn't as good as it had been, or would be later, but I thought we did a spunky little show that night. He's right about Mr.Li - nobody ever seemed to find him as funny as we did. But I will stick up for Josh's appraisal sketch which, for the record, was called "For What It's Worth." I always thought it was funny, and, yes, Dale did totally freak out. At the end, I (as the old man in this production, because Josh already was back in school), toss Dale a glass vase that supposedly is worth money, and it falls and breaks. The one used that night fell and shattered into a million little glass pieces. It shocked the hell out of everybody, but Dale and I continued without missing a beat. I relished the shocked look people had for just a second there. I felt like Gallagher, only we should have told people up front they were sitting in the safety glasses section. - Steve
