Hi all,

Welcome to October. Let's get into the Leak!

*******

THE WEBSITE

Some of you may have noticed the new easy look at BWM. Just another version to help make it easier to navigate. The change is not yet complete so you may find some pages that don't fit into the frames set up, but they will eventually be corrected.

One of the new features is The Crew pages. Now every member of the BWM team has their own page with pic, bio, contact info and related pages and links. 3 Crew pages have rolled out and the others will be available soon.

Gagplanet has also launched its new look. The site is still under construction and many of the links are dead. we'll let you know when the site is fully functional.

CRAPPING BADGER RECORDS

Following the tragedy of Sept. 11, CBR released a new song by me and Dan Neid's project Darwin Marvel called GHOSTS OF MANHATTAN. The song was recorded and released to the web September 14. It stayed on the Soundclick Top 40 for 2 weeks before dropping off. Dan and I are very proud of the song and the response to the song. We have also become part of SoViTA - Songwriters for Victims of Terror in America. The organization plans to release a worldwide CD with profits going to victim assistance. Visit their website.

Give a listen to some of the other artists involved and we'll keep you posted on the CD.

You can hear Ghosts Of Manhattan at Soundclick

GAG REFLEX

This is it. Saturday Oct 6 is the last stop on the VIAGRA MONOLOGUES train. We will be performing at The House in Dekalb, IL. The show begins at 10pm and will cost $5. For directions and info visit their website.

Even with the cancellations of the shows at The Velvet Theater and OTB, this has been a great run. We want to thank everyone who has come out and seen us. It's been a long time since we've performed so much and we finally feel like we're back in step. Look for more touring next year. We'd also like to thank Chris Foster and Mitch Holland of Killing Vaudeville for stepping up to help us with performing and tech.

OH! And hey! Start making plans to attend our annual New Years Eve shindig! No details are available yet (hell, the show's not even written yet) but as usual the party will include food, drinks, an after show music/countdown party and this year the release of THE VIAGRA MONOLOGUES CD!! Recorded live at the sold out shows in June, the album will be released in the first few moments of 2002!

I will soon be splitting Gag news and the BWM News Leak into 2 separate entities. The News Leak will then only come out when there is news to report and Gag will come out more regularly and focus only on what the group is up to. Please e-mail me and let me know if you are more interested in getting the Gag e-newsletter than the leak or if you would like to get both. I will still report important Gag news in the News leak, but not as detailed as it has been. Just let me know.

That's about it for this News Leak!

Take care,
Eric

Hey folks!

Better late than never. We got a lot of bad news last week in the world of Boundary Waters Media and I wanted to wait until some of the smoke cleared to give you the update.

GAG REFLEX:

The fall VIAGRA MONOLOGUES tour kicks off Friday night at The Playground in Chicago. If you're in the Chicago area, c'mon down. The show starts at 10:30 and is only $6. Let us know that you're on the mailing list and heard about the show here and we'll knock a buck off. For directions and information you can visit our gigs page.

We have received some bad news. First and worst, Marie-Anne Hogarth has said goodbye to Gag Reflex for the time being. Her personal schedule became too much and something had to go. Sad day. Marla has been in near hysterics but we've got her sedated. Gag wants to extend our thanks and love to Hogie and we hope to see her at shows.

More bad news arrived at roughly the same time, due to miscommunication and scheduling problems, the Oct 13 show at the OTB has been cancelled. We were hoping to move the show to the first weekend in Nov but we have decided against it. Instead we will just hold our breath and kick it at the OTB at our annual New Year's Eve bash. (Start making plans now.) We are working to fill that October 13th space with a show at another venue, possibly in Chicago. Since we are still looking, we may also sneak one last gig in on October 27.

Remember catch us on these nights:
Aug 31, 10:30pm The Playground, Chicago
Sept 7, 10:30pm The Playground, Chicago
Sept 28, 29 8pm - The Velvet Theater , Wheaton, IL
Oct 6 8pm - The House , Dekalb, IL
Tickets for these shows will be $6. For info call 630-896-3698.

One last tragedy before we move on, Dan Neid will not be appearing the second weekend at The Playground. He will be in Salt Lake City shooting Penn and Teller. Not shooting them...you know what I mean. Putting their image on video. Our guest performer Chris Foster has risen beautifully to the challenge. Dan will be performing on Friday and will be back for the Velvet Theater shows.

That's about all the news that's ready to go out from Boundary Waters. I will say that a drastic site redesign is in the works but won't launch until nearer the end of the year. Gagplanet is also being redesigned.

Later, e

Hey kids!

We're back! That's right Boundary Waters Media is back online and heading into fall! Our summer lull is reaching its end so let's leak!

Firstly I want to give a shout out to our newest Brigade members! Hey! Hope you guys have a good time and find some stuff you like.

GAG REFLEX:

The second leg of the VIAGRA MONOLOGUES tour kicks off in just over 2 weeks. We get back together to begin our 2 week rehearsal cram on Monday. This will be the first time Killing Vaudeville's Chris Foster will be taking the stage as a guest performer since we are sans Dale for the upcoming shows. Check out times and locations on our Gag Gigs page.

After several months the internet radio show is back online. Boundary Waters Radio will be running Gag Reflex Comedy Theater Of The Air 24/7 until September. All of the existing 12 half-hour episodes, the blooper special and tons of songs and live tracks will keep you entertained for hours. Tune in.

Gag has created yet another mp3 site. This time at Amazon.com. This is where you can go for the exclusive Live track "Who The Hell Are You". Go. Download. Get smashed and forget!

CRAPPING BADGER RECORDS:

CBR has been releasing tracks to the world like crazy this week. No less than 8 new releases have hit the net this week. 5 of those are old tracks from Barry Newton and the Plagues. THE SALE appeared on the 1990 release "State Of Entropy" and has just been remastered. It's a tender if not bi-polar anti-war ballad. ANY PAGE and MERIDIAN were both recorded during the same sessions as THE SALE but never made the album. They too have been remastered for their first release. ANY PAGE is exceptionally strange and MERIDIAN is an ode to destructo-love. NAPTIME (1991)and THE MONKEY & THE MALLET (1996) were recorded for albums that were abandoned. NAPTIME was eventually performed on stage by Strange's in 1992. Check out all this new stuff. Scare your friends and confuse your enemies! Give'em a listen.

We have also released THE CLOSING SEQUENCE, yet another track left behind by the defunct guitar jam rock band, JACK. This was a number that the guys like to play around with that always sounded like a closing. To this day no one, including Dan, knows what Dan was singing. Click Here.

The last 2 releases are EMBALMING LADY from Deaf Lepers (1987) and PLAN 9 (which was recorded as the theme song for Greg Twait's planned video reshoot from Ed Wood's Plan 9 From Outer Space script.).

Don't forget you can check out music from all our artists here.

. In the next week we will also begin posting pictures of the Studios (BWM A, B and Roehenge) so you can see where the Badgers reside.

POTPOURRI:

There is a bunch of new merch at the online store. Now you can get BWM Boxers, caps and totebags. Plus Prawn hats, Slickyman Tanktops...gosh just tons of stuff!! Check it out!

We have also begun an expansion of the VISUAL AIDS page. Logos, pics and animation used through out the entire website that you can download. Including Gag Reflex promotional flyers that you can print. Great for press or obsessed fans who would like to build a shrine but can't get any good pictures.

Our PAGE OF THE WEEK this time is the NEWS ARCHIVE. This page has every News Leak since November 2000 archived in order from newest to oldest. You won't believe the number of broken promises and such you will find. This is particularly useful for new fans who want to see where we came from. It's also interesting to note that the first News Leak was a paragraph long.

That's it from me. Back to you Charles.

Yello!

I hope everybody had a fun 4th! As firework smoke wafts up to the stratosphere...let us Leak!

GAG REFLEX:
2 dates have been added to Gag's fall roster. The group will be performing Sept. 28 and 29th at The Velvet Arts Theater in Wheaton, IL. Show times and prices will be forthcoming. We are also firming up a return to the North Aurora OTB facility on October 13th. Again we will keep you abreast of the situation as we get confirmation. Currently the fall dates, barring open mic appearances, are as follows:

AUGUST 31, SEPT 7 - The Playground, Chicago SEPT 28, 29 - The Velvet Arts Theater, Wheaton OCT 13 - North Aurora OTB

For further information check our Gag Gigs page.

The live album is coming along smoothly. We have decided that while we will also be putting out the official VIAGRA MONOLOGUES album there will be a 7 track EP of just the encores from the 2 nights. This will be a limited release only. We will let you know the full details as things are finalized. The EP will be called AFTERGLOW - The Viagra Encores. In the meantime you can currently download some mp3s from both the full album and the EP. Recently added are Dale's wonderful SHE SAYS 'NUCULAR' song and a fan favorite, WORRIERS ANONYMOUS.

(Mac users can contact me about hearing Soundclick stuff in Quicktime. I may be able to help.)

Also on the horizon is a possible Halloween performance and Dale is working on the new studio album with the working title of ZIPPER FOOD.

CRAPPING BADGER RECORDS:
2 new internet releases this week:

METHAMPERAGE from CBR's electronica act, Marmot.

UNCLEAN by Deaf Lepers. This song was recorded in the winter of 1987 and I would like to apologize for the talentlessness of youth. This pseudo-acoustic punk goof off about the hilarious disease Leprosy was a big hit my sophomore year in high school. It's something nice to play for friends so they'll say, "What the hell is that?!?!"

That's about it from the Leak. I know there are some of you out there who may remember the fact that July 6 is the 10th anniversary of Sudden Dancer's debut gig. Actually.... our only gig. BUT it was one of the first performances of Dan Neid and myself. I know a few of you will cringe at the fact that it's been 10 years.

Have a great one!!!

Hey gang!

As June winds to a close, I feel like leaking!! So let us proceed. Shall we?

GAG REFLEX:
Monday night the Gag crew pulled up to Cafe Orleans to perform our half hour set at the Marasco Fundraiser. After eyeballing the venue and hearing the blues band whose sets we'd be performing between, we dumped the sketches we'd rehearsed and went all music. Fun was had by all. Fans can check out the set list on the Gigs page.

Hey speaking of set lists and running orders, Dale and I have put on our pith helmets and plundered the archives looking for Gag Reflex history. This week we have updated the Performance History with a ton of set lists, after thougts and more accurate dates from the last 8 years. Former Gag members Mo Gannon, Greg Ledford and Josh Gilbert have agreed to write some notes about their time with the group for the page. This is why the Gag Reflex Performance History 93-00 is our PAGE OF THE WEEK.

It's a gret page for fans who have attended so many of these shows. We'd also like to put a call out to fans who have perhaps held on to programs over the years. check the page and see if you have any that aren't posted yet. E-mail the set list to me and Gag would be forever greatful.

CRAPPING BADGER RECORDS:

Ah yes. The little record company with the BIG offensive name. Things have been a little slow around here during the last few weeks. 2 new Marmot songs have been posted; "Driving To Andromeda" and "The First Moments Of Eden". Marmot is one of 2 projects that delve into electronica. Marmot's electronica has a more positive, hop in the car and drive feel than much of the loop mixes on the web. Check it out. The more people listen, the higher the songs go on the charts and the more people can discover it.

I have decided to scrap the title and cover of my album SCHWARTZCASTER: THE LONG AND SCHWARTZ OF IT (much to the disappointment of my brother in law.) The good folks have signed on to design the cover and the new title is: DANCERS,SCARECROWS,WIVES. This title fits more in line with the album thematically. The album is a collection of digitally remastered demos that have been recorded over the last 7 years and would fall into a more folk rock category. You can download much of the album by going to here.

CBR has been asked why we post so much to different mp3 sites. We currently have sites on BeSonic, Mp3.com and Soundclick. To us this is like touring. These are different pockets of potential fans. The center point of all of this is the CBR page. That's a good jumping off point for all our musical projects.

HOBNOBBING: 2 new artists have granted us permission to play their stuff on Boundary Waters Radio. We want to give a shout out to them.

First is GUY SCHWARTZ & THE NEW JACK HIPPIES. Guy, again no relation, is an incredibly talented Texas blues musician. His band, the New Jack Hippies, literally has 150+ members that rotate in and out gig to gig. He is currently booking a nationwide tour for the last half of the year and has a TON of music to download. He has even offered to have me hop up on stage with them when they come to Chicago later this year. Check them out. Very, very cool!

The second group is ANIMAL MONDAY. This tight California combo is driven by the voice of Stephanie Collozi. Great stuff. On the downloadable track "Mexico" Stephanie's double traked vocal playing is fantastic. Well worth a listen.

Well, my friends, we are sadly nearing the end of the Leak. Sad also is the passing of one of the true greats, Jack Lemmon. Jack passed away last night at the age of 76.

Let us all fling plates of linguini in his memory shouting "NOW IT'S GARBAGE!"

He and Walter have a standing contract to reunite in "Grumpy Dead Men" for release next year.

I kid.

Hey! Send us an e-mail and let us know what's going on in your head. We'd love to hear from you!

Have a great holiday!

Greetings folks,

Welcome to the Leak!! I'm going to try organizing the Leak into topics this time around to see how it goes. So turn on your fans and dehumidfiers and let's get to it.

GAG REFLEX NEWS:
It's the first day of summer and already Gag's mind is on the fall. Over the next month we hope to be bringing you some dates in September and October for more performances of THE VIAGRA MONOLOGUES. Except for some open mic appearances, July and August will be fairly quiet. We will kick back into action at the end of August and beginning of Sept with some performances in Chicago. We are working on getting some more dates including another night at The OTB in North Aurora. We'll keep you posted. Don't forget Monday June 25th we will be appearing at the Marasco Benefit. Tickets are $15 and we will be performing from 8 to 8:30. For details check the Gag Gigs page.

On Boundary Waters' Gag page we have added a couple of tidbits that you may like. We have added the new Viagra Monologues live album page. There's not much there yet except for a picture of yours truly working the mobil studio. This will be the page with all the album details.

We also have added a fairly accurate Gag Reflex Performance History. This details nearly every performance since our beginnings in 1993. This page will have set lists and comments from current and former cast members (this means you Josh!). At the moment some dates and names of venues are hazy but we will get as close to perfect. Check it out.

BOUNDARY WATERS RADIO NEWS:
All this week and through the weekend we will be running the Gag Reflex Marathon 24/7! Monday we will return to our normal broadcast. Due to Gag's schedule new episodes are a ways off but 2 new Steve Lord's Mid-Life Crisis have been sent down from Studio C. Look for those to air in July.

THE HUMOR MILL :
Having trouble sleeping? Miss the incessant whir of a box fan? You're not alone. Now you can relive those pre-central air days with Dan Neid's new 10 disc white noise collection. Check it out here.
My mayoral campaign site, SCHWARTZ 2005, has a new look thanks to the genius folks at Designamo. Have a look and register to vote!!

PAGE OF THE WEEK: LINKS PAGE
Once again our Links page is being featured. More hand picked links from our team for you to enjoy. Be sure to visit the sites of some of our good friends like Red Schwartz, Lava Baby, Marillion and many others. All of these artists have given permission for us to play their work on BWR. We thank them and want to toss lots of people their way.

Speaking of friends of Boundary Waters, I want to end on a rather personal note. I received an e-mail for comic legend Shelly Berman. The letter was in response to an e-mail I sent him a few weeks back and he said,

"I hope Boundary Waters lives up to your hopes and is at least as rewarding as I think it must be. (I intend to visit the site today..."

Shelly's work was one of the reasons I got into comedy. I'm proud to think he visited the site. Just a warm fuzzy for me.

Have a great week and happy Solstice!

At ease!

I thought I would start out a little different this week. We've gotten a lot of new people on the list in the last few weeks and some people are only familiar with Gag Reflex or the radio station. You know, only small pieces of the BWM package. Here's a little introduction to Boundary Waters Media:

"Boundary Waters Media is an unincorporated content management company that provides internet exposure and promotion to artists and performers. The intention of founder Eric Schwartz has always been that BWM would focus on many different mediums all at once. Currently the company works in internet-radio drama production, music production and online distribution, flash animation, original online comedy (parody websites and such) and e-publishing. The homepage offers all of this and information / promotion of projects by the artists handled (Gag Reflex) as well as all the interactive bells and whistles of any good website (online games, chat, message boards).

Working with no budget to speak of and utilizing many free online services, Schwartz and Co. have built a huge website, online radio station, numerous mp3 sites and a steadily growing fan base. Apart from some online store items (powered by cafepress.com) and some CD's (some created with mp3.com's DAM CD program), everything offered by BWM is free. The focus has always been exposure with hopes of a profit."

Well, with that out of the way, let us proceed with the Leak.

Gag Reflex will be performing a half hour set June 25th at a fundraiser for Donna Marasco. Donna has just recently completed intensive chemotherapy to combat Leukemia. Due to her low white blood cell count following chemo, Donna will spend the next 100 days in a sterile isolated apartment. This fundraiser has been put together to help the family deal with the cost. The event will be held at 7 pm Monday June 25th at Cafe Orleans 500 West Lockport Road, Plainfield, IL 60544 (815) 436-2403 a map to the venue con be obtained on the Gag Gig page.

The price to attend is $15 dollars. There will be entertainment, appetizers, drinks, a silent auction and the satisfaction of knowing you helped someone in need.

Newly available for download is "Stereotypes". This sketch was recorded at the June 2nd Gag Reflex show. It's always an audience favorite.Click here.

I have embarked on a site clean up that will optimize a lot of images for faster download, clearing out some areas that aren't visited very often. Our Crapping Badger Records listening station, CRAPSTER!, has been gutted and a complet overhaul is in the works. Also keep an eye out for the complete redesign of Gagplanet, the Gag Reflex Homepage. Dale is down in Austin furiously...redesigning. There will be lots of new pictures. I'll let everybody know when the new look is launched.

Also if you're interested, I have added past gig set-lists to the Gag Gigs page. Dale, upon hearing about this new feature said, "You've got a lot of time on your hands."

Our Page Of The Week is THE HUMOR MILL. I know it's been featured before but DANG IT! I love that page. Our online repository of original digital humor. You can visit with Clyde Balboa, our Tech Support guy or shop at BM Foods or see the entire site in Mr. T Vision. There's hours of fun there and there will be more coming soon.

Talk to you all soon.

'sup y'all!!

First and foremost I want to say hi to all the new Brigade members who are joining us this time around. We got some new sign ups at the show over the weekend. I hope you enjoy yourself!

Speaking of the show, for those of you who don't know, Gag Reflex presented THE VIAGRA MONOLOGUES to 2 wonderful near capacity houses this past Friday and Saturday. The audiences were spectacular and the group can't wait to do it again. The next scheduled performances will be at The Playground in Chicago at the end of August. We may bring VIAGRA to the OTB again in the fall before putting it to rest. There will be some open mic all music appearances through out the summer. Because of the nature of open mics, these will not be announced until a few days before the appearance. Keep your eyes on the Gag Gigs page for dates and places.

We have started editing the audio recordings of the show for the eventual live album. The first live track finished, "Soft Porn" our tender ode to Skinemax, is available for download on the Gag Soundclick.com page. The song was recorded last Friday during the encores and I think you can tell what a great time the crowd was having. Also newly available for download at Soundclick is "Interspecies Lust Rodeo" which is a semi musical sketch that was recorded in Chicago in 1997 and "Ass Full Of Buddha" which is a short clip from the radio show. Enjoy!

I want to send out big hellos' to some artists who have recently given us permission to play their stuff on Boundary Waters Radio. First is LAVA BABY. This girl group from New Jersey kicks major butt with their edgy pop rock! Check them out. They have a new independent CD out that is getting rave reviews.

Second is Sean Fitzpatrick. This straight ahead rock and roll guy and his band are fantastic. My suggestion would be listen to "10 O'Clock Girlfriend". You'll be sold.

The third and final nod this week goes to The Zookeepers. This group as been playing together since 1994 and has put out several albums. Feel good original rock with a sense of humor is never bad. A really good band. Check out "Renee".

Give these artists a listen and help support independent new music. Thanks to them all for their kind permission and support with BWR.

Back at BWM...

Before there was Gag Reflex there was Strange's. Crapping Badger Records, our wonderful music department, has just released "Be Our Christ" to the Internet. This live recording from the 1992 Strange's revue THEY'RE JUST MONKEYS WITH HAIRSPRAY, is a pointed jab at Mr. Phantom, Andrew Lloyd Webber. It wasn't intended to be sacreligious, it just turned out that way.Unfortunately you can't see the elaborate dance number that accompanied it, but you get the idea. Give it a virtual spin...

Some of you may have noticed a new page called "Change The World" and it is our PAGE OF THE WEEK. This is a sappily titled page all for charity and cause links that I personally felt should be given some webspace at BWM. I have moved the Hunger Site link from the main page to there and have so far added a link to Ryan's Well. This new page tells the story about a 6 year old Canadian boy who started saving his allowance to help build a clean water well in Africa. Over the last three years his efforts have raised nearly a quarter of a million dollars and has helped to build 30 wells. Check out his story.

Now that there is a break in rehearsals there's going to be a lot more stuff added to the site, so stay on the look out!

Hi-di-ho neighbors!

Two weeks and counting! Gag Reflex's best of show, THE VIAGRA MONOLOGUES, opens two weeks from tomorrow! The group is rehearsing its butt off and all the normal 2 week warning signs are there. Stress, tension, burn out and me claiming this is my last show every 10 minutes! Standard stuff. (Nobody freak! It's not my last show. I say that every show.)Just a couple bits of Gag business before we move on. Firstly I have decided to cancel the live webcast of the Saturday show. I don't think we have the time to make the webcast anything spectacular. Instead we will be recording the shows for later broadcast and a possible live album. There will also be no new Gag episodes until June. This is because rehearsals are coming down to the wire and we don't want to take any time away to record. New episodes will resume on June 10. In the meantime we will rerun the first three episodes of the season in case anybody missed them the first time. We will also run Steve Lord's Mid-Life Crisis and 16 To Midnight episodes that ran prior to our move to Live 365 in May of last year.

In other BWR news, Eric "Red" Schwartz, our East Coast troubador friend, has graced us with an exclusive and hilarious ditty entitled MAD MACINALLY. The song , which is not for the easily offended, is currently running in the general Boundary Waters Radio rotation and will be featured in Sunday night's broadcast. A big thanks goes out to Red. Check out his music and website here.

Hot Dan! Dan Neid is back from Puerto Rico (and there was much rejoicing) and the first installment of his journal has been posted to WE BE TRIPPIN'. Check it out and check back as new installments are posted!

A bunch of < a href="http://www.bwatersmedia.com/studiolog.html">NOTES FROM THE STUDIO posts have been recovered and reposted. These were lost in February when the site went down. Honestly, I don't know how it happened. They were recovered when I opened my FTP editor for that page and the html that opened was the Pre-site-down page. Nothing posted after Feb 20-odd was there only the old ones. I copied the code for the posts and reopened the file. Now everything was back to normal and the html appeared to be the post-down code. It really was the strangest thing! Anyway, you can check out what's been going on in the studios there.

Our page of the week is the BARRY NEWTON & THE PLAGUES homepage. Ever since we picked up Barry's back catalog from the now defunct Unclean Records, this has been Barry's home. Officially sanctioned by Newton himself, the page offers a complete Newton discography and a comprehensive Bio. (Plus something called The Truth.)A great page that honors a great musician. Barry of course has not performed since 1991 but is expected to make an appearance at the FOLK, YOU ALL! Festival in July.

Before I power down The Leak for the week, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the sad news of Douglas Adams' death. The mind behind THE HITCHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY died on Friday, May 11 of an apparentheart attack after collapsing at a gym near his home in Santa Barbara, California. This was quite a shock as Adams wasn't sick. I know that most in the Boundary Waters camp are saddened by the passing of this genius. Adams was "42" (Sorry I couldn't resist. For those who have never read his work, "42" is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything. We just don't know what the question is.). Actually he was 49.

So long and thanks for all the fish,
E

Hello Brigade!

I toyed with the idea of not sending The Leak out this week since there are few web updates to report. Then I realized that the Leak is SO MUCH MORE. It's a community. I'm sure there are those of you who can't face a week without a Leak. Some may take a leak for granted, but others, oh no. Okay enough of the fairly disgusting puns. Let's dive right into The Leak. (Sorry).

First of all, you all received the e-mail about Marla, our matronly martyr of mayhem and mirth. She is fine and wanted to thank all her well wishers. We also got a message from Gag's effervescent journeyman, Dan, who has been kicking back in Puerto Rico:

"I am in a cybernet cafe in Condado...it's 76 degrees outside...I'm sipping espresso...this is so cool..."

I am hoping I can get a write up about his trip for WE BE TRIPPIN' from him.

So May rolls on. Things are getting tense and hectic at The BWM Complex. Gag rehearsals for Viagra are going well and we are throwing in recording sessions for the radio show when we can. Lots of late editing nights for all three shows (16 To Midnight and Steve Lord's Mid-Life Crisis included.) Huff huff. Plus the Electronic Presskit project and general web maintenance...This is a lot for a guy a family and a day job! (whoops broke te 4th wall! Crap!)

I've spent a lot of time talking about Gag and the radio show recently and I want to take a little time to talk about 16 TO MIDNIGHT. This show is our bizarre little gem and Sunday we will be airing what is technically the last episode. Dan and I created the show in 1993 as a goof long before we ever had a forum in which to present it. The show began as tapes we made by sneaking into a commercial radio production studio while Dan was employed on overnights at the station. When Dan quit that job we eventually moved production to where ever I was living. We always strived to make the show sound as pro as possible. These episodes were recorded sporadically over the next 7 years. 14 shows in all. Over the years we have created a family of constantly evolving characters who seem to take on a life of their own. While Sunday's ep is the last recorded (last year when we were airing on Radio Destiny) it may not be the last ever. We don't know. 16 has always been the organic product of a moment. After Sunday we will air past episodes that we ran before the move to Live365. This week's page of the week is THE 16 TO MIDNIGHT EPISODE GUIDE . This page gives details of episodes and recording dates and Vital Information which gives bios of all the characters that appear. Dan and I have each posted our personal thoughts about the show. Check it out.

In other radio show news, the first episode of Prawn (Gag Reflex's hen pecked superhero spin off) has been written and the writing staff is embarking on the rest of the season. The show will run 7 to 8 minutes and will be done in serial form with story arcs and cliff hangers. It promises to be hilarious. Check out the new page.

That's it from The Leak. Have a fantastic week and keep smiling!

Greetings Brigade,

It's been a slow week at BWM. Gag Reflex rehearsals have begun, Dan Neid has run off to Puerto Rico, Millie performed in a benefit reunion concert with her old High School choir, Dale won a design award (as you all read), Steve has been working on booking more Gag shows and trying to sell the radio show to "legit" radio stations... MAN! Nothing's going on.

In the meantime I have been cloistered in Studio A, editing the 3rd Gag episode of the season, digitizing new episodes of Steve Lord and 16 To Midnight and designing the Gag Reflex Electronic Presskit CD ROM. SIGH. Needless to say there haven't been many updates to the site this week.

In fact there is only one and it's our Page Of The Week. THE MERCH PERCH is the newly designed store page. Since BWM doesn't have the functionality to handle a store, this page acts as a portal to the other places on the web that DO carry our stuff. The Gag store, SwagPlanet, and the two BWM stores are run out of Cafepress.com. Cafepress creates on demand T-shirts, mugs and mousepads designed by myself and Designamo. The CD's currently available are also D.A.M. CDs from mp3.com. There is no standing stock, the CDs are pressed when the order is taken. It's a nice set up for people working with no capital, like us. The latest Crapping Badger sampler CD, BadgerWorld, is available. I know people will be kicking doors down to get their hands on that one, but you may want to wait until the sweet new cover is uploaded. Also we have VIAGRA MONOLOGUES T-shirts mugs available at the Gag Store. We are currently working to get our non-automated CD's available on the web, so stay tuned and help support the cause.

As I mentioned earlier I am working on an Electronic Presskit for Gag Reflex. The production of this has been stepped up because the plan is to give the press free tickets to the June show and give them each a copy of this CD. The CD will be enhanced and include 3 or 4 regular audio tracks and then a ton of files and such. The files will include bios, scripts for some of our more popular sketches, various graphics from over the years and mp3's of more songs and at least 1 full episode of the radio show.

In music, Dale is down in Austin working on FLASH #1 a new slower, doo-woppy version ofthe Gag favorite FLASH. Millie is slated to put vocals down on the new Marmot song GENTLY RIP YOU UP. We have heard rumors that Lovecraft's Machine has fired up again in Silver Key Studios, so we may get some new music from them.

That's it from us at BWM this week! Talk to you all next week.

Keep smiling, E

LET THE LEAKING BEGIN!!

Well this is the big weekend for Gag Reflex! The new season starts Sunday night at 10 EST/9 CST with a high energy episode lovingly titled "Slave Boy Petey". If you haven't caught Gag Reflex before, now is your chance. We will be running nothing but Gag Reflex episodes, live clips and songs starting today and running until Sunday night. Check out the Episode Guide to see what you've missed or see what's coming up. Listen in. Episode Guide.

As you may or may not have noticed we have been putting just under 100% of our energy toward promoting what Gag Reflex is up to. This is shaping up to be a very busy year for Gag and we're very happy about it. The sketches for The Viagra Monologues have been picked, cast and put in a running order. Now we just have to learn the words. This coupled with what will need to be a fairly brisk recording schedule will make the next month slightly hairy. Man! I pity the poor shmuck who signed on to juggle all that stuff. DOH!

Our PAGE OF THE WEEK this time around is.. you guessed it! The new Gag Reflex Page! It's got links to the official Gagplanet site and the Gag Store, track listings and info on our 2 albums, free mp3 downloads, our Gag Gigs page, info on ongoing projects like NEANDERTHAL, and a brand new group picture.

Also new on the main page is a link to The Hunger Site. Everybody should do this every day. When you visit The Hunger Site you can provide a bowl of food simply by clicking on the button. There is absolutely no cost to you. When you click the button the site's corporate sponsors pay for your donation. It's really easy. Give it a try.

Well that's it for the Leak. Wish us luck. I hope you all tune in. It's really easy and I promise a great show.

Greetings all,

You have more than likely noticed the new e-mail. I created this account because AOL in its ultimate wisdom does not have a blind copy feature. In the beginning this wasn't a big problem but as circulation has SWELLED to over fifty people the time came to protect the readers from the roving gangs of Spamelopes that infect the net. Thanks to those of you who brought that to my attention. Now let's get to leaking.

I am proud to announce the new Gag Reflex show title. After countless hours bickering and only a few fist-to-head blows we are proud to announce that THE VIAGRA MONOLOGUES (or SET YOUR PFIZERS ON STUN) is our title! Honorable mention goes to FLOATING DICKMAN, KORNAKOVIA OF KOMEDY and the ever unpopular NAPSTYRIA. Keep watching Gagplanet and our Gag Gigs page for any further developments. The dates are June 1 and 2 @ 8pm at the North Aurora OTB and the price of tickets is $10. Visit Gagplanet Visit Gag Gigs

In other Gag Reflex news, the new Gag Forum is available on line. With discussion topics like "What sucks about you guys" and "You know what would be funny", how can you go wrong? Go! Post! Love!

In music news, Crapping Badger Records' resident techno-boy, Marmot, now has his own mp3 page. There you can check out UNTIL I'M HOLY and ZONE JUMPER. Also, our defunct guitar trio, JACK, has 3 new songs online for free download; SUSHI BABY, MEXICAN GIRLS and KORSAKOV are all available beautiful

BASEMENTERIFFIC STEREO. I'd like to welcome to the brigade The Unknown Mystic. UM is a Georgia based artist who blends rock, reggae, hip hop and psychedelic production into a truly original sound. We are currently discussing an Unknown Mystic/Schwartzcaster collaboration which it is believed would kick down the doors of creation. Well at any rate it'd be real cool. If your mind is open and you don't mind a good dose of the truth, check him out here.

Greg Twait, BWM's own Charles Kuralt, has returned from Las Vegas where he and fellow Killing Vaudevillian Tim wrought havoc for 8 hours. He has chronicled the debauchery in a narrative that will be posted to We Be Trippin' in the next few weeks. Keep your eyes peeled.

Slipping on over to the Dramedy Department... While a lot of attention has been put toward the premiere of the new Gag season on April 29, let's not forget that new episodes of 16 TO MIDNIGHT and STEVE LORD'S MID-LIFE CRISIS debut the following week on May 6th. SLMLC deals with Steve's favorite music from the 90's including The Apples (now The Apples In Stereo), Chris Isaak and many others. While there are only 2 new episodes of 16TM left to air (not including the Christmas special), the new season will include The Best Of, all the episodes that aired on Radio Destiny before the move to Live365 and episodes of lost material like the legendary HORSE RACE and DANNY'S THANKSGIVING TAPE. Also 2 new shows have actually moved from the planning stage into the writing stage. Scripts for the Gag Reflex spin-off PRAWN and our sci-fi show ZONE JUMPER are currently being written. The theme songs are available for download at mp3.com. With a bit of luck these shows will debut this summer.

That's about it from The Leak this week. As always, much ado about nothing.

Keep Smiling!

Hello my beautiful Brigade,

It's a sub-balmy evening in Ft Wayne Indiana. I arrived here this afternoon. There should be a write up in WE BE TRIPPIN' later in the week about my little trek. There's not a whole lot to report this week so let's get to it.

First and foremost I have to announce that through the miracle of technology you are now able to view BWM in a whole new language. That's right just go to the BWM Translator and you can now view our entire page in MR-T-riffic T-talk.

We have confirmed Gag Reflex's dates at The Playground in Chicago. We will be appearing 2 consecutive Friday nights, Aug 31 and Sept 7 at 10:30pm. Come and see us in the big city. We are working to book more dates so stay tuned. We are currently submitting a proposal to Baliwick Rep Theater in Chicago for some dates in the fall. Keep your eye on our gig page for any more dates or changes.

In other Gag news, the first episode of the new season of Gag Reflex Comedy Theater Of The Air is nearing completion. The season will debut on April 29th at 9:00 pm CST on Boundary Waters Radio. The first season got such a great response from people that tuned in that the bar has been jacked up. The season opener will be immeadiately followed at 9:40 by an online chat with cast members including a visit from Dale in Austin and Josh in LA. Logon to out chat page to ask all those burning questions that have kept you up at nights. To listen click here. and to chat click here.

New episodes of 16 TO MIDNIGHT and STEVE LORD'S MID-LIFE CRISIS will debut the following week.

SPeaking of Gag on internet radio, we know that we have far distant fans who can't make it to the Chicago suburbs in June to see our Best Of show. That's why one of the June shows will have a live webcast that you can tune in to listen to. More than likely the same show will be recorded for a live album. WOW you say...hey it's the least we can do.

Until next time...

Howdy! Is it Thursday already? I guess it's time for the leak!!!

People often approach me on the street and say, "What are you staring at?". To which I reply, "That's a great idea!! BWM SHOULD have e-Cards for people to send to loved ones! Or hated ones." That's right The Boundary Waters team has reached way down inside and yanked up new e-Cards! 6 great new cards, designed by us that can be sent off to your friends! Watch out! These aren't your Grandmother's e-Cards! No Blue freakin' Mountain pulp here. Check them out.

The June 2nd Gag Reflex show at The North Aurora OTB has been confirmed! 2 shows in one weekend?! How will they manage? We are still waiting for contracts from The Playground for Aug & September and are working on some other dates in different venues. As soon as we know more we'll let you know.
Gagplanet
BWM Gag Page

Now you may already know this about the Gag confirmation. How? Well it's easy. Your can just check the News Ticker at the top of the main page. It has all the breaking news and some not so important tidbits.

Lots of news in the world of Crapping Badger Records. In an effort to expand our claws further out into cyberspace we have opened new mp3 sites at Soundclick.com. These sites will be artist specific with Crapping Badger All Stars covering the artists with only 1 or 2 songs. We will take a few songs off the MP3.com sampler page to keep it fresh and not repeat all of the Soundclick material. Look for the new Crapping Badger Sampler 3 soon!!! Currently JACK, Barry Newton & The Plagues and Crapping Badger All stars are live on Soundclick and chock full of mp3 goodness. Look for Barry's Sign Me Up For Love and 16 To Midnight's 46 second opus Michael Healthcott. They are both now available for download. The new remixes of The Cold Spot and Wondering Aloud are available on Schwartzcaster's page.

On a sad note, I have withdrawn from this year's Aurora Mayoral election. I got started too late and the money was scarce. Not enough people wanted to pay to sleep in the "Lincoln Bedroom" (which in reality was our guest bathroom with the cat box.) I have launched the Schwartz in 2005 campaign. I am taking requests for slogans!

Finally our Page Of The Week is Bounday Waters Dramedy. This page is dedicated to all the shows we produce for Boundary Waters Radio. It includes episode guides for all your favorite shows and descriptions of shows in development. Check it out. Don't forget! The new season of shows begins April 29th at 9pm!

That's all from me this week. I'm off to Ft. Wayne late next week so the News Leak may be a little late or early. Who knows. Enjoy the updates and see you next week.

Greeting Boundary Waters Brigade!

Happy spring! Trees begin to bud. Flowers start to bloom. Months old dog mess begins to thaw and smell up the suburbs. Any way, here's The Leak!

East coast singer/songwriter Eric "Red" Schwartz (no relation) has recently joined the Brigade. His new song "Napster Rap" has been making some waves and the song recently appeared on NPR. This song acts like a brainscrub and gets all the legal cobwebs out of your mind so you can really look at the heart of the Napster issue. It's a great song. Check it out here. Okay! Now on to all those freakin' updates. Some of you may have run into my sweet new splash page...there's nothing like free Java script. This will help newcomers get a good first impression.

Speaking of newcomers... a newbie/FAQ page has been added to the site. This will help newbies and others find their way around the site. Give it a visit.

The main index page has been redesigned, mostly out of necessity. On Mar. 20 the main page got wiped out and the new page was assembled. The page is more compact now and adheres to my new philosophy of "less scroll, more surf". You know, when I lost the main page I really should have called Boundary Waters' new on-site Tech Support guy, Clyde Balboa. Read all about him. He may seem familiar to most of you.

Feel like a pleasant waste of time? Check out the new Boundary Waters Word Search! A different search every time! It's great!

We also have a new page where people can sign up for the brigade! Send this link to anybody you think might enjoy what BWM offers.

2 new uploads to the Crapping Badger Records MP3.com page. Steve Lord's fantastic Theme From "Prawn" which will feature in the Boundary Waters Radio series that debuts later this year and another lost Barry Newton & The Plagues track; Sign Me Up For Love. Give these a listen.

The first WE BE TRIPPIN' article is now available. It's a recounting of a Gag Reflex appearance at a private party about a year and a half ago. Nothing exciting. Just a little glimpse into the world of a working comedy group.

Our PAGE OF THE WEEK this week is THE GAMES PAGE. Go in and smack Dan Neid around or play the new Word Search or pick a new look for Steve Lord! Hours of interactive web good times.

Enjoy the warming! Peace out.

Hello from the Boundary Waters Media Complex,

Lots of stuff this week so let's get right to it.

Rejean Aboot (Canada's forever fried folkmeister) is still MIA somewhere (hopefully) in the Western Hemisphere. We do however have a new track from him available at MP3.com. JANUARY IN HALIFAX was a lost demo that was recently unearthed. Recorded by Rejean at Smokey Bidet's Barbados studio/home in the early 90's, this song stands as one of the few times in recent years that he's actually finished a song. Give it a listen.

The page for our new food company, BM Foods, is nearing completion. We currently have a listing for AUNTIE MADDER'S OLD TIME RELISHES up and running. Give it a look.

Just a quick note about God. Crapping Badger Records' artist Rev. Jacob Lilywhite and His Boys now offer The Wrath Of God on their page. Just click to see all the Virtual Armageddon fun.

New to Crapping Badger Records is ON-LINER NOTES. When you go onto pages for specific albums, these notes give a little more indepth information on the album from the people who recorded them. Written specially for us by the artists themselves. It's a great way to get to know the album and the artist.(Only 3 albums currently include the notes so far. More will follow.)
Smokey Bidet - Smokey
Smokey Bidet - Live In Halifax
Rejean Aboot - Rejean Against The Machine

The E-Super Spec Store now includes a growing collection of sketches from Gag Reflex, Strange's and other projects. These sketches are all in Adobe PDF format. Check 'em out, print 'em off and perform them for your friends and family! If you're inclined to do that

sort of thing.

Some quick notes. Gag Reflex will be appearing on the Fox Valley Easter Seals Telethon March 24 around 5:10 pm. They will only be performing 1 short sketch. (Probably an edited version of Knight School). We are currently in the process of booking 2 weekends in September at The Playground in Chicago and working on getting June 2 at the North Aurora OTB. More "tour dates" will hopefully follow over the next few weeks. Click Here for Gag Gigs

Finally our Page Of The Week (which I neglected last week) is THE LINKS PAGE. What you say? A page of links to other websites is your featured page?! YUP! You want to see what makes us tick? Who our friends are? This page has dozens and dozens of links to our favorite places on the web. If you want to spend some time surfing and are looking for some great stuff, drop in.

See ya next week!

Greetings friends!

A big HI goes out to The Apples In Stereo who, with the help of a mutual friend, have been clued in to the wonderful world of Boundary Waters. The Apples are a hot, hot band and are about to embark on a tour. You can get their online only live album at E-Music.com and they can be heard on the Power Puff Girlssoundtrack. In other "rubbing elbows" news, Ralph Covert of the Bad Examples (one of the best bands to ever come out of the mid-west) was a really nice guy and recorded a Boundary Waters Radio spot for me when I met him earlier this week. Well, that's enough "Rock Talk". Let me slip out of these leopard skin pants and get on with The Leak.

THIS JUST IN:
This news is so new that it may actually take some members of the group by surprise! Gag Reflex is now booked to appear at the North Aurora OTB on June 1st. This will be a "Best Of" show and is untitled at the moment. You are the first people to hear about this. Unlike our New Year's Eve bash that we throw at the OTB, this show will not include any food or beverages. The price will be around $10 . There will be a cash bar!! As always we hope that from this one show, a sturdy tour will grow. Keep on eye on the Gag Gigs page and Gag Planet for info.

We're hoping to get some coffeehouse/open mic type appearances in before the show to help promote it. Those will be quickly organized and announced so watch those pages.

IN OTHER NEWS:
I have added a search engine to the main page. This will make the site even easier to navigate. Just punch in a keyword and you go!

There is a new JACK song up at the MP3 site. Check out RAINCOAT JOHNNY! Listen often, and get that puppy up the MP3 charts.

You may also notice that we have started construction on our new food service department, BM Foods. Check out the splash!

Also, one of my overly idealistic one-acts is up now at E-Super. It's called HOW TO GET AHEAD IN A BASKET and forgive me. It was written in in 1994. Check it out, you may like it.

So as I do every week, I say goodbye. Have a great weekend and thanks for all your support.

Eric

Hello friends,
Some new updates to Boundary Waters Media this week and since we're all together, let's get down to business. I'm writing this while suffering hallucinations from blinding oral pain. (Did I hear a snicker from Los Angeles?)

The main page now has a little red dot which indicates which pages have been updated. This will allow you all to know where to go to see new stuff when you go in.

In Gag Reflex news, Gag will be performing on March 24th on the South Fox Valley Easter Seals Telethon. Of course you would already know that if you had been told that there is a new Gag Appearances page up. This will inform fans of upcoming appearances.

Gag will hopefully be announcing their spring Best Of Show soon and we are making plans for an Online chat with the group in April to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the debut of the internet radio show. (Possibly a live webcast episode.)We'll keep you posted.

Our page of the week is Boundary Waters Radio. This page was updated this week with new graphics and a whole section where we let you know what has recently been uploaded to the station.

Well that's about it. Talk to you soon.
Eric
PS: Pass this on to anybody you think might like to be a part of The Boundary Waters Brigade.

Howdy folks,

After a long dark week of the soul Boundary Waters, Gagplanet and Designamo are back up and running. PHEW! Thanks for your e-mails. They helped talk me down from the edge. I knew, if clung together, we'd all make it through. Needless to say there have been no new updates. All the updating time was taken up bringing BWM back up to date. There will more updates coming soon. Just so you can get an idea of what's coming in the next few weeks.

1. Boundary Waters Media will soon be entering the food distribution game with the launch of BM FOODS.

2. A glut of new songs will be put up on the Crapping Badger Records mp3 site. This will include ALTO VOLTAJE, Dan Neid and Frank Carney's 90's musical project that Mr. Carney is now remastering from the original 4-Track master tapes.

3. Gag Reflex's spring show will be announced and possibly some other big news.

4. WE BE TRIPPIN's debut essay will appear. The essay will present one version of Gag Reflex's infamous Quincy Illinois show.

So keep those eyes peeled! Thanks for your patience and support. Talk to you all soon.

Hello Boundary Waters Brigade!
It's President's Day weekend for some of us! Yeehaw! You know what that means... WHITE SALES ABOUND! Firstly I want to thank everyone for their input on finally giving this newsletter a title. I had dozens of ideas thrown my way but I finally decided the Boundary Waters News Leak seemed to fit the best. Thank you all again. Now on with the news.

Some of you may have noticed changes on the main page in the last day or two. This was necessary as I accidentally wiped out half the main page. The current page was hasitly put together so I consider it temporary. A redesign is in the works.

Speaking of redesigns... Crapping Badger Records has a new look and is also our Page Of The Week. Not only are there a few spiffy animations, we also now offer CRAPSTER! A one stop shop where you can listen to all of our Crapping Badger Artists. Visit Crapping Badger and Crapster today!

Dan Neid and his ALTO VOLTAJE partner, Frank Carney, are preparing to revisit their music and start remastering their mid-nineties tracks. So Crapping Badger hopes to be welcoming ALTO VOLTAJE to its fold soon. Speaking of remasters, SCHWARTZCASTER now has a MP3 site of its own at BeSonic.com. This is in preparation for THE LONG AND SCHWARTZ OF IT which I am expecting to finish by May. You can currently download the first two tracks "Emerge" and "Other Women and Men". Click here. Also don't forget that you can keep up with all of our musical endevours at Notes From The Studio.

Gag Reflex is currently working on booking a show for this spring. we hope to have some news for you in the coming weeks.

Hey everybody.
I've been considering different names for this newsletter. Boundary Waters Newsletter is so...cold and unfeeling. One idea I had was The Boundary Water Bucket. If any of you have any ideas, please let me know. But I digress.

This week has seen the remastering project kick into high gear. Everyone knows it's easier to fiddle with old stuff than create something new. Now you can keep up with what's going on in the world of high tech recording at the new IN THE STUDIO page. A little blurb about recording sessions, editing, mixing, mastering, whatever will be updated regularly.

Also going up is the new page WE BE TRIPPIN' This will be a repository for travel reports and the like from various members of the Boundary Waters Crew.

THE MEATLES, our totally pointless animation project, continues this week with MEAT BEST. (For those of you not in the know, Pete Best was The Beatles' drummer right before Ringo joined. Many fans never forgave the group for dumping him.)

THE UNFOLDING STORY OF STEVE has been updated. This month's snippet of Steve Lord's life deals with Steve returning to boxing to save the orphanage.

Don't forget! Tomorrow is Friday which means that Dale's 7 Signs will be new.

FEATURED PAGE:
E-Super e-Publishing is our featured page this week. Check out the Spec Store where you can look at Gag Reflex's 1996 script ANTHOLOGY in its entirety. Or check out Bookshelf for PULT, Eric and Dan's journey into the literary strange. And for a short story that we can't name here based on a certain British Sci-fi show. Starring Steve!

Happy Groundhog Day,

The Boundary Waters Media Complex in the beautiful Chicago suburbs is absolutely vibrating with energy. Boundary and Crapping Badger have finally stepped into the 21st Century with the installation of a brand new CD burner. (I think I said that when we got that when we started recording masters on MiniDisc) While members of the crew already had burners it really helps when the guy who hoards all the sound archives has it. Look for announcements about future releases. Crapping Badger President Steve Lord has been pressuring Barry Newton for a new album. Instead Newton has given the go ahead for a compilation of unreleased cuts. Check out Barry's page here.

The Crapping Badger mp3 site has be reworked. Firstly all the songs that were only available on the samplers are now available for free download. The songs are now lumped together by band or artist with the latest releases up top. The latest releases are THE COLD SPOT (Now available for download) and Barry Newton's lost track DOUGHBOY Pts 1 & 2 (Available in the next 24 hours). Either download or listen to the lo-fi streams. Let's get those songs and others up the mp3.com charts.Click here.

Also joining the Crapping Badger family is Chris Foster's Ambient/Industrial project Lovecraft's Machine. Recorded at his own Silver Key Studios, CBR has taken the project in to help get his stuff out there. Give Lovecraft's Machine a listen.

While you're checking out Boundary Waters, don't forget to swing in and check out Dale's 7 Signs of the week. Click here.

FEATURED PAGE OF THE WEEK: THE ARTIST GRAVEYARD
This page is dedicated to all the projects that lead up to Gag Reflex, Killing Vaudeville and Boundary Waters Media. Pages on Howard, Strange's, Jack and all the other one word groups some of us were involved with.

Have a great week

Hey everybody!
Right off the bat we want to congratulate our own Dan Neid for snagging the part of Horatio in Hamlet. The production is being put on by the Independent Players in Elgin and will be performed at Elgin Community College in March. We'll give you more details as they become available.

We are also proud to announce that Boundary Waters Radio is one of only 9 General Comedy default stations that come standard on Mac's new iTunes program. This probably is because we are still labeled as an Editor's Pick at Live365. For those of you who don't know, we were a featured broadcast last September. We have a copy of the interview they did with me posted.

Several new things up this week. First is a goofy little cartoon. Follow this link to watch meat taunt Paul McCartney.Click here.

Dale has a new 7 Signs available. Click here.

Also check out Fight The Quizzes. It's just me venting my anger at those damn quizzes that people forward on email. Click here.
See you all soon! Eric

Howdy all,
Well, enough of the small talk. This week Gag Reflex asked Marla Parus, Jaime Gutierrez and Marie Anne Hogarth to join officially. We want to welcome them with open arms. Especially the ladies. Gag is already forming plans for a spring "Best Of" show and will begin recording new radio episodes next week. The new season should begin in late February.

JACK's Epitaph has been loaded up at Crapping Badger. This is one of only 2 multi track demos from the now defunct band. All the rest of their tracks are live basement tapes. Check out Epitaph here.

The new Gag Reflex song Zipper Food is also available now at mp3.com. This pseudo-Arabic, list-heavy song is sure to delight all. Get it here.

Boundary Waters Radio has finally geeked out completely. Doctor Who ran on the BBC from 1963 to 1989. In the mid 70's the Beeb began destroying random episodes from 63-70 to make room in storage. These classic episodes are now lost forever. BUT! The audio from these episodes still exist! (Many taped by fans during their original airings.) BWR is now going to run these lost episodes on Wednesdays, during the Bender and on Sunday nights (When New Sundays returns.) Click here to listen to BWR.

Talk to you soon! Eric

Hello again all!
As I write this query letters to publishers are being prepared in our Austin office (Dale's place) regarding The Sweater Letters. This book will be Gag Reflex's foot into the world of books. I won't give too much away now, but we'll keep you posted. Keep watching our website (the one on the internet). Also, Dale's 7 Signs has returned. Originally appearing in the Beacon News as a regular feature, it was cut several years ago. It now has resurfaced at Boundary Waters as a weekly feature. There is currently talk of selling it again to the Beacon as a syndicated column. You can see it here.

You will also, no doubt, be thrilled to see our new feature The Unfolding Story Of Steve. This fairly regular feature will slowly peel away the petals of the posie we call Steve Lord. This installment talks about his time as Kiss' drummer. See it here.

16 To Midnight, Eric and Dan's show of the wonderous strange, has finally made it to Crapping Badger. As soon as MP3.com approves the track you will be able to download Runaway Whale. RW is a bizarre spoken word track that never appeared in the show. It tells the story of a young man and his dingo, his girlfriend who licks quarters, the bombing of Madagascar and making the cast of Magnum PI eject milk from their nose. It should be available by Tuesday or Wednesday.Click here.

Well, I will talk to you all soon. The mayoral campaign is heating up. Maniac Randy Toler has placed a sign at the corner of Indian Trail and 25 WHICH IS HOW I DRIVE TO WORK EVERY DAY!!! He's taunting me! Talk to you all soon! Eric

Happy New Year!!
Well last night's New Year's Eve bash was a huge success! How we managed to keep Dale's return a secret I'll never know. Yes that's right. Gag's founder and still spiritual guide Dale made the great trek from Austin to Aurora to perform in last night's show. Over the last month Dale and the group had been in constant contact. We sent him the script and a video of his blocking. He then had the last week to rehearse with the group in person. It was flawless. We Dale made his first onstage appearance it took long time fans a moment to realize that it was actually him. But when he said hello a warm greeting came from the audience. (Especially my mom.) Thanks so much Mr. Roe. There is always a spot here for you. Tomorrow Dale will return to Austin and we will begin working on PRAWN. New comers Marie Anne Hogarth and Marla Parus also did splendid jobs. Mo Gannon, who left the group in August, was even on hand to come up and sing I Give You My Lunch. And after giving birth 2 weeks ago, Millie S. hopped up on stage and performed American Guy with Dale. A few tears were shed, lots of larfs were larfed and a stupendous time was had by all. One short piece of news- At THE SPEC STORE on the E-Super page you can find the full 38 page script for Gag Reflex Anthology. This was to be our TV special/demo tape. As you will read, much of the script was shot, but we weren't able to complete it. Read the script. It's one of our prouder moments. Thank you all so much for coming out. Love ya lots,

Eric

In other news: Well this is it! 48 hours from now me and Millie will be in hospital room waiting breathlessly for the drugs to kick in. Incoming Schwartz will be born this weekend!! Between Chicago blizzards and the now calm state of the Union, the child couldn't have picked a more memorable time. Needless to say between that and gearing up for the Gag show, this could be the last news flash of 2000. There's lots of new stuff up here at the moment. We have linked to theFolk, You All information site. Many Crapping Badger artists intend to perform next year. We also have up an original Doctor Who story available on the E-Super page. For those who don't know, Doctor Who is the longest running science fiction show in the world. It ran on the BBC from 1963 to 1989. The lead actor changed 7 times and this story poses the question: "what would happen if our own perpetually horny Steve Lord was given the role?". This story is intended for adults. For more information on Doctor Who, we have several links on the "Links" page. You will also notice that The Spec Store is in the works on E-Super. This "division" will handle all Screenplays, plays, sketches and the like. It will arrive sometime early next year. So that about wraps it up from me. Thanks so much for a great freshman year with the site and the radio station and everything. We appreciate every person who rolls a mouse ball our way. Happy holidays and see you next year (or at the show!), Eric

A fairly A-typical superheo origin. You will also notice that 2 new features are soon to be added. Dale and Steve will soon be gracing these virtual pages with some regular articles. Dale's 7 Signs and Steve's Ask Steve (originally appearing as Tell Me Why) first appeared in the Copley Press. In other news you will notice that a new feature has been added. SLICKYMAN has joined the BWM family. Slickyman is a stick figure superhero that I created in 1983 while visiting Norway. I was making little flip cartoons on every notepad I could find. One of my Norse relatives actually coined the phrase Slickyman. Anyway, now that I have Macromedia Flash at my disposal, I am bringing back the world's smallest superhero is animation form. That's about it for now.

Greetings,

By now, no doubt you have noticed some changes to Boundary Waters Media. Firstly is the streamlining of the main page. After a month online some of us felt that the site was slightly confusing. You can still get to all your favotite places through CBR or Dramedy and so forth. Part of this change is that makes it easier to add new features to the site. The picture grid made adding new stuff a huge pain in the keister. Second are the new bits, the BWM Lineage Chart and the Site reviews. The lineage chart helps you figure out how all the past, current and future projects by BWM members relate to each other. We here at BWM are endevouring to have celebrities of all kinds review the site. The reviews will be housed at the review site. The Gag Reflex New Year's Bash is still moving ahead steadily. I think that's all for now.

Hi all!

The first two of what we hope will be millions of interactivities are now available on the Boundary Waters Games Page. You will need Flash! But it's fun! You can pick Steve Lord's look or smack Dan Neid around. I'm sure more will follow. Due to the pressures of rehearsal and impending fatherhood I have stopped the daily rotations on BWR and set the general rotation free. There will be new things added so it's always nice to tune in. Rehearsals have started for the New Year's Bash, again at the North Aurora OTB! Soon the video segments will be in production as well. Everything is moving swiftly ahead.
Later!

Eric
