WHAT IS BOUNDARY WATERS MEDIA? - BWM is the production company set up by Chicago area comedy group Gag Reflex. Created to produce and distribute the group's work and the work of individual members and friends. I guess...think Grateful Dead Records or Apple Corp. A place where we can work to develop projects, promote current projects and distribute older work.

WHY BOUNDARY WATERS? ARE YOU GUYS FROM CANADA - No we're not. I had a life-molding experience in the Canadian boundary waters when I was young. Later in life I mentioned to Dan Neid that a dream job would be to be the on DJ in that particular wilderness. In 2000, when we started our internet radio station, we called it Bounday Waters Radio - when the production company moved forward, I simply kept the moniker.

IS BWM A REAL COMPANY? - Well that's a matter of perspective. We'd like to think so. Legally no. We are not yet incorporated or a partnership or even a LLC. We currently make no real money.

YOU GUYS SEEM A LITTLE LOOSE WITH THE LANGUAGE (ADULT LANGUAGE AND CONTENT). - That's not a question, but we will address it all the same. Yes we are. The internet is a censorship free zone and we pray it stays that way. Between runko's foul mouth and some of the Gag Reflex scripts, there is a good deal of strong language. BWM is by adults for adults. Most of the content would pass as PG-13 or R. There is no porn or extreme violence. Personally, we wouldn't suggest that this site be viewed by younger viewers. However, we will not change our content because some of them might stumble across. You will notice there is also a good deal of intelligent language, art, humor and music here as well. If you don't like it, fuck off.

IS CRAPPING BADGER REALLY A RECORD LABEL? - Again, we like to think so. We create, promote and distribute original audio content from podcasts to comedy sketches to rock music. We have also produced 2-and-a-half albums. (The half being a "live show only" Gag Reflex sampler). So, yes, we are a teeny tiny, record label. Most of what we produce and distribute are free, downloadable Mp3s.

WHY IS STEVE LORD THE PRESIDENT? - I have been asking myself the same question for the last eight years.

CRAPPING BADGER.... ISN'T THAT GROSS? - Yes and I'm certain that it limits our accessibility. However, when Steve Lord and I created the little lable we tossed around ideas about names. From his youth he'd always wanted a label called "Crapping Badger". Back in the day actual record labels all contained little logos: Buddha Records, Chess, etc. It was a yen he had and I was willing to help. Plus, it suits us I think. I couldn't see it any other way now.

CAN I WRITE FOR BIG CITY? - Please! I am always looking for authors who want to try their hand at writing for the good city. If you are interested write me.

CAN I WRITE FOR THE FARM? - Nope. Sorry. The Farm is one long story and it's mine, all mine!!! Mwahahahaha.

CAN I WRITE FOR GAG REFLEX? - Again, I'm sorry. All sketches and songs come from within the group. We don't outsource. :) Thanks, though.

WHAT IS YOUR CONNECTION TO THE FIRST STREET PLAYHOUSE? - Gag Reflex became the house comedy group in 2005. Steve Lord and I joind the Board of Directors in 2006. In 2007 Steve was voted in as president and I became Executive Director. Now that you mention it, it's a little funny how that worked out there, as well as here.
