People stand on platforms. People catch trains on platforms. Pimps in the 70's wore platforms. Issues are for weak-knees who don't have the backbone for platforms! These are my platforms.


1.  AURORA NEEDS ITS OWN VOLCANO.
    While this does seem to be an ambitious project bear with me. Sure the casino brings people in, but what keeps them here? A volcano would keep them here.  We would improve our standing in the "smart" community by being a haven for seismologists, geologists and numerous other scientists. Besides, who in the general populous can resist a little smoke, ash and lava.  There are two ways we can do this.  Both would create thousands of jobs and bring much needed industry to the area. 1) We start an elaborate drilling project that will crack the Earth's crust which will cause mineral rich, land building magma to spill out creating a natural volcano. While some of our beautiful city would be wiped clean, farmers will increase their yield within 20 thousand years.  2) An incredible volcano like facade into which we pump millions of gallons of vinegar, baking soda and red dye daily. Once corporations like Arm & Hammer catch wind of this WATCH OUT!!

2.  NEW NORTH SOUTH TOLLWAY PLAN.
    This plan is very simple.  First we pave over the Fox River. This would create a good 8 to 10 lane expressway. This would increase the traffic flow to Riverside businesses. It would also create new business on the small islands that litter the Fox.  These are small patches of useful land that now cannot be cultivated due simply to their location. Pave the Fox and create vast new areas for retail and fast food.

3.  SECESSION FROM THE UNION.
    I propose that Aurora secede from the United States and become sovereign British territory. I believe we should do this for the following reasons; socialized medicine; better television; better education; Florida. This may be a fairly controversial measure but I think in the long run Aurora could benefit. Since "The Crown" lost Hong Kong, they've been dying to have some new colony to shower with Britishness.
