Day two. A beautiful, breezy spring day. We descended on Kris' house about an hour late. Which was fine because there wasn't much to shoot. When the shooting was finished both in her house, on the street and in her yard, it was time to head out to the two other locations. These are real quick inserts in a commercial, so they didn't take long to shoot. Because one of our cast was not available to do about half and hours worth of shooting, we made Kris' character a lesbian in passing. In the context of the sketch it's a subtle little comment, and probably only noticable to those apt at noticing those things.
The tennis courts in the shot are on the campus of the Illinois Math and Science Academy in Aurora and the strip mall we used for the date sequence is a small, tucked away, nearly abandoned strip on the south end of Aurora. Ten years ago I worked as a maid there. The shoot ended mid afternoon. Two hours later I was back at IMSA collecting my bag of belongings that I had left. Director/Dolt. Luckily it was still sitting there 3 hours later.
