Eric Peter Schwartz

Eric has been writing and performing in the Chicago area for nearly 20 years. He made his debut on stage in March of 1986 in a sketch comedy revue at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, IL. He continued to do these workshops and cut his writing teeth, having his work performed for an audience for the first time. He then started writing constantly - having several pieces published in the underground newspaper "The Whitefish Times" and writing and recording many comedy sketches with friends. It was also during this time that he began exploring music (both comedy and serious). After several years in high school and community theater, he created the comedy group Strange's with Greg Twait, Dan Neid and Josh Gilbert in 1992. He eventually joined Gag Reflex Comedy Theater in 1995 and formed Boundary Waters Media in 2000.

Eric will freely admits that he has a low boredom threshold so he tries to keep lots of plates spinning (with varying degrees of success). On Occasion he can be found performing his own musical compositions at coffee houses and open mics either by himself or with fellow Gag Reflexer Steve Lord. He has written 2 unproduced screenplays; Romancing Death and an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's The Tomb and his writing has been published by the American Library of Poetry and Copley Press (for whom he worked as a freelance journalist for a time). In 2002 Eric and Greg Twait launched Big City, an online fantasy/crime drama fiction series which has garnered praise and a slowly growing fanbase. In 2005 he developed the web serial The Farm. He relaunched the series in the fall of 2006 on MySpace. He has also written, produced and performed in local radio and TV ads. He also teaches comedy and comedy revue production at The First Street Playhouse (where he was recently voted in on the board)

Eric enjoys being a techno-junkie, Doctor Who, Sherlock Holmes, LOST, Spongebob Squarepants, Joss Whedon, Russell T. Davies, JJ Abrams, Damon Lindelof, David Fury, author Mark Leyner, Tom Russell, The Zookeepers, Ralph Covert, having TV shows on DVD, watching IMF (to stay tapped into the kid's music) and his freakin' Dell DJ MP3 player!!. He especially loves time spent with his son Danny and his wife Millie. The three live together in a little green house on a little green street in Dekalb, IL.
