Just a little snippet. Back when BC was to be a series of books, I was planning a short story collection called BIG CITY FILES. The purpose of these stories was to explore the themes and characters a little deeper. This was a planned story about Needless returning home for a funeral. For some reason he asks Laura to go with him. The story was set up to be from Laura’s point of view. While short (about as long as this intro) it does give a look into the group of characters.

Needless was restless in the seat beside me. When he called and asked me to go with he warned me that he wasn’t very good on planes. I was surprised at his call in the first place. Out of our little group, I was the last one I expected him to ask. Obviously he was closest to Stack and he was closer in age to Charlie. For a long time I wasn’t sure about him and Smiles. They weren’t opposed to each other in any way but I could never see them as friends if they didn’t have Stack to connect them. Since they did have Stack they were friendly enough to each other.
