EXCERPTS FROM THE G'LUH MHAL (The Elf Holy Book) with annotations by Dr. Elich Chander
"…and thusly the Kingfather died leaving Mhalasia in the hands of his five sons. Paradise shook with their constant feuding and became tainted with blood and venom. Saddened by the taint and angry at the fighting within its embrace Mhalasia expelled the brothers in a storm of light.
Naked in the desert of the new world, the brothers found themselves transformed. Their bodies no longer resembled their Gnuph bodies of old. Their tongues too had changed and they could no longer argue or speak to each other. They were no longer brothers. To the edges they trekked hoping to one day find the light of Mhalasia and return to their Gnuph bodies.
And so the world began…"
The Fifth Brother, Melk, saw their folly and went into the desert, to the great rift. There he cried to Mhalasia to lift the exile that they might be a family again. There he offered himself to the world, throwing himself into the crack and into the waiting fires.
When the fires cooled, all of Melk's hope and anger had mingled with the fire and a stone of unimaginable power belched forth from the crack.
The true stone.
The Key to Mhalasia.
And so the world will end…"
The Elf holy book, the G'luh Mhal, quite literally "The Journey Home", speaks of three Elf Messiahs: two that have come before and one yet to come.
"…When the last Hwiss died and their seed was wiped from the world, the Melk Stone passed to the Goblin Kingdom. The cousin of the Goblin Emperor Vysk, the Elf named F'jen, marched the Elves into the heart of the Goblins' kingdom to take the Stone. Fearing that Vysk would use the Stone to destroy the Elves, F'jen forged ahead, defeating wave after wave of Goblin attack... "
Eventually the Goblins are defeated and F'jen kills his cousin Vysk and brings the Melk Stone to the Elves' kingdom. As time wore on F'jen felt the temptation of the Stone, of the power, and sent his two sons into the wilderness to hide it from the world.
"Gley'sh and Helmech took the Stone into the wilderness and F'jen locked himself in the tower. Across the great expanse the Stone called to him. Madness gripped him and he fell into the dark.
The Elves of the tribe hailed F'jen, for he so loved the Elves that he sacrificed himself to the Dark to save them from the power and the decadence that would forever keep Mhalasia closed to them. Hail F'jen, the Dark Messiah. "
A thousand years later the Elves and the Goblins were at war again. The Elf King, Onrius Skiv, sent a lone tracker into the wilderness to find the Melk Stone. To protect it from the Goblin hoards that searched for it. The tracker, Zjon, found the Melk Stone and with a small band of Elf soldiers held off the Goblin searchers.
